Andrew is a full-stack web and mobile application developer, former educator,
and a talented creator of all things good. Andrew is a hard working, dedicated individual
who has a passion for software development and creativity. After receiving his Bachelor's in Physics
and Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas, he taught robotics and math classes at
El Dorado High School and helped students win several engineering competitions hosted by Louisiana
Tech University. After moving to New Orleans, he taught robotics and AP Computer Science at Sci High
and built a makerspace that is still operational to this day. As Director of Education for IDIYA Labs
he created several innovation labs at New Orleans area schools and worked with over 200 teachers
to develop curriculum and project based learning techniques. Andrew hosts a radio show and podcast
called Maker Bayou. He most recently has become adept in app and website development,
programming with JavaScript for front-end and back-end frameworks.

I developed and taught curriculum on advanced manufacturing techniques including laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC machining, 3D CAD, and digital device creation. I instructed youth and adults on computer science concepts that emphasize variables, program control flow, conditional rendering, database creation and access, event handling, and algorithm development.
In addition to spearheading multiple makerspace and innovation lab builds at schools in the Greater New Orleans Area, I trained over 200 teachers in the use of creativity and advanced manufacturing within their curriculum. Through robotics instruction utilizing the Arduino microcontroller platform, I taught C++ with an emphasis in subroutines, hardware control, functions, data processing, loops, variable efficiency, I/O monitoring, and artificial intelligence.
Creating sweeping changes within a senior level physics class, I taught robotics through the Arduino microcontroller to many students. In addition to teaching Algebra II and Biology, I also offered AP Computer Science for the first time at Sci High. Working through a summer break, I converted an unused classroom into a highly successful makerspace that quickly became the favorite class of many students. My technical proficiencies acquired during this time include object oriented programming, debugging, sorting algorithms and algorithm analysis, and ethical computer use.
Being hired by El Dorado School District was a privelege. With humble beginnings teaching 9th Grade Physical Science, I had the opportunity to attend a robotics training program through Louisiana Tech University called NASA Threads. Becoming introduced to the power of programming, I continued my education by becoming certified in AP Computer Science. I taught Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry making math fun and engaging for students. I learned how to demonstrate engineering and coding concepts with an emphasis on sensor data manipulation, electronic circuits, robotic control, tactile navigation, and pulse width modulation for servo control.
Apart from being a full-stack developer, I enjoy both indoor and outdoor activites. Inside I like fine dining, going to the gym, learning new skills, playing computer games, and cooking. Outside I enjoy camping, canoeing, hiking, hunting, and rock climbing.
